Poetic License RSS

This started as an experiment to write ten poems a day. That clearly didn't last, but I'll still put up some words from time to time.

Some I will mean, and some I won't. None of these are finished. This is me, trying.

Walk

(in)

It

(out)

Off

(in)

Each step is breath

each breath a step closer to

shaking away the afternoon

as the cold whips through

radiant strands of silver thread

catch the fading light

shining against a sea of black

wool, down, concrete and steel

the window displays are full

of shocking easter-basket grass green

and egg pink useless vanities

as if they are somehow trying

to trick us out of somber hibernation

but we know better, yes

we know better things await

at the end of this sleepy season

until then we will breathe,

In
